Terms of Service

1. Who Can Use QuidSplit

You may use our services only if you agree to these Terms of Service and to the processing of your information as described in our Privacy Policy. You may not use QuidSplit if you are barred from receiving services under applicable law, if we previously banned your account for violation of these terms, or if you are under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions, including the EU/EEA). If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

QuidSplit is a shared ledger for friends, colleagues, and family to keep track of expenses. Bills, IOUs, debts, and payments recorded on QuidSplit are informal records, and not legally binding contracts. We offer the service "as-is" without a warranty. QuidSplit is a work-in-progress, so some features may not work exactly as planned. We may stop offering or restrict certain services or features at any time.

The service helps you track informal debts, expenses, and bills by allowing users to enter notes about who they owe, who owes them, and why. The service keeps track of the sharing math and stores this data for later use. You agree that this service is provided AS-IS and on an AS AVAILABLE basis. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of information entered by users.

3. Informal Debts and Conditions of Use

The service allows users who share a group or are friends to post debts and payments as they please. You agree that you understand these debts are not legally binding and represent informal information sharing among roommates, friends, or family.

You agree to use the service for its intended purpose and in compliance with all applicable laws. You agree not to use the service in a fraudulent, disruptive, aggressive, manipulative, or otherwise inappropriate manner, including for money laundering. We reserve the right to investigate your use and terminate your access to comply with law or for violations of appropriate use.

4. What You Represent

You agree to represent yourself honestly, that all information you provide is true, correct, and current to the best of your knowledge, and that you have the necessary rights, power, authority, and age to agree to these terms and perform the acts required of you. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities under your account.

5. User Content and Content Standards

When using QuidSplit, you may post content (e.g., payment descriptions, comments, expense details). You are solely responsible for all content that you provide, post, upload, or submit. We are not responsible for evaluating the accuracy, truthfulness, usefulness, legality, safety, morality, or applicability of any content posted by users. We may, in our sole discretion, reject or remove any content that violates our content standards or for any other reason we deem appropriate.

When sharing content on QuidSplit, you may not share content that:

• You do not have the right to share, or that invades another person's privacy or publicity rights
• Is false, misleading, or deceptive
• Is obscene, harmful, abusive, or offensive
• Incites violence or hatred toward an individual or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, gender, age, or sexual orientation
• Is illegal, such as criminal activity, terrorism, child pornography, fraud, or piracy
• Is spammy, or promotes pyramid schemes, network marketing, or referral marketing programs
• In our sole discretion causes or exposes users or QuidSplit to real or potential harm or liability

We shall have no obligation to monitor content, but may do so at our sole discretion. We are not responsible for any failure or delay in removing such content.

6. Payment and Subscription

Pricing is as described on our Pricing page. Free trial periods may apply. Subscriptions are billed annually. You may cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges. Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable consumer law.

7. No Warranty and Disclaimers

We do not represent that the service is error-free, complete, or can be relied upon. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITH NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, AND YOU ARE USING THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE DISCLAIM ANY WARRANTY, IMPLIED OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

QuidSplit is a tracking tool; we are not responsible for actual money transfers between users or disputes arising from shared expenses. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

8. Privacy and Security

In order to provide the services, we collect some of your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. You must agree to the processing of your data as laid out in that policy to use our services. We may disclose personal information if required by law or government request. You must be 13 years or older (or 16 in certain jurisdictions) to use this service. You are responsible for preventing unauthorized access to your account.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (e.g. consumer rights in the EU).

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless and indemnify us from any third-party claim arising from or in any way related to your use of the service, including liability or expense arising from all claims, losses, damages (actual and consequential), suits, judgments, litigation costs, and attorney fees, of every kind and nature.

11. Termination and Refusal of Service

Your access to the service may be terminated at any time, for any reason, at our sole discretion. This includes the right to ban any person who violates our content standards. You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of terms or for any other reason with notice where practicable.

12. Governing Law, Severability, and Entire Agreement

These terms are governed by the laws of India. For users in the EU/EEA, you may also have rights under the laws of your country of residence. Disputes may be resolved in the courts of India, or in your local courts where mandatory under consumer protection law.

Severability: If any part of this agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the provision shall be deemed superseded by a valid enforceable provision that closely matches the intent of the original, and all other parts shall remain in effect.

Exercise: Our failure to exercise or enforce any part of this agreement does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. These terms (including the Privacy Policy) comprise the entire agreement between you and us.

13. Modifications to the Agreement

We may modify this agreement at any time, effective immediately, by posting a new agreement. You agree that even if you have not personally visited the website with the new terms, they may have force immediately. We will notify you of material changes where practicable. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service.
